Secrets and Codes

Y5 found out all about Grazyna Bacewicz this half term and how she hid messages in her music during WW2. We were sad to learn that female composers were still unusual at this time and there was a lot of discussion around this. 

We listened to lots of other pieces with morse code - did Beethoven really hide the letter V (meaning 5) in his famous Symphony No 5 before morse code was introduced? 

Using our own names we were creative and 'hid' them inside our own pieces. It was tricky but fun!
